YFN Lucci is back in prison. After a warrant for his arrest was released earlier this month on charges of racketeering, the “Everyday We Lit” rapper surrendered to authorities on Monday, May 10, 2021. According to WSB-TV, he is currently held in the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta in the institution’s maximum-security unit to keep him and the staff secured.
“We do treat charges more so than the celebrity status, and he is certainly in our maximum-security area,” Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat told the news station.
A 105-count racketeering RICO indictment against the Bloods street gang and their illegal activities in Atlanta called YFN Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, and 11 others. YFN Lucci was still out on bail after being charged with felony murder in connection with the shooting death of a man in southwest Atlanta in December 2020, when he handed over the 75-page indictment last week.
Aggravated assault, armed robbery, property destruction, murder, and theft are among the charges against YFN Lucci in the racketeering indictment. The earlier murder charge against him is also included in the indictment.
“He’s not guilty of all charges,” YFN Lucci’s attorney Drew Findling told WSB-TV.
The rapper was accused of messing with his ankle bracelet after being released on a $500,000 bond in the murder case in February. He also reportedly violated the terms of his release by going to a strip joint and testing positive for marijuana and opiates, which may hinder a subsequent bail application.
“He’s not a gang member. What he is is an internationally recognized musical artist that is a triple platinum winner, that has performed all over the United States and all over the world,” Findling previously said when the warrant was first issued.
