If you thought the #ChickenSandwichWars were over, you were wrong because Burger King, a famous fast-food chain, has officially joined the conversation. Burger King recently announced that it is preparing to launch its latest chicken sandwich, dubbed the Ch’King.
The fast-food market for chicken sandwich choices is already crowded, thanks to Popeyes, Chik-fil-A, Zaxby’s, McDonald’s, and others. You’d better get ready because, despite being late to the party, Burger King is coming for your money with its version of the top-tier chicken sandwich.
Burger King will formally discontinue the Ch’King chicken sandwich on June 3rd, according to @CNBC. The company claims that the Ch’King chicken sandwich is different from its rivals because the chicken is entirely breaded by hand. If all of that isn’t enough to entice you to open your wallet, Burger King is also providing a free meal bonus.
Customers who order the latest Ch’King via the Burger King app or online before June 20th can receive a free Whopper. In addition, the company explained how they came up with the sandwich’s unique name.
The name was inspired by a customer who tried the sandwich during the testing process and allegedly suggested that Bk should change its name to “Chicken King,” which was then shortened to Ch’King, according to Ellie Doty, Burger King Chief Marketing Officer. Burger King’s tardiness in the #ChickenSandwichWars was also answered by Doty.
“We really took our time to get it right, to get the reps in at the restaurant and make sure that every restaurant had their hand-breading station set up properly,” she said. We’re sure that once the sandwich is released, customers will head to social media to voice their opinions…and hopefully for BK they like it.
