MTV used to give exclusive tours inside the homes of some of the greatest stars in the entertainment industry. Cribs premiered in 2000, and in just five years, the show has visited approximately 200 musicians, actresses, and athletes’ homes. (The episode with Mariah Carey was the most watched of the series.) Cribs has premiered a number of new episodes through outlets such as CMT and Snapchat since it was placed in syndication in 2008. New episodes of the show are due to air on MTV this summer, more than two decades after it first aired.
On Wednesday, August 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, the new episodes will premiere on MTV. Viewers will get a unique look at the houses of celebs such as Big Sean, Rick Ross, Tinashe, and JoJo Siwa in the 30-minute episodes. Nick Young, Tia Mowry, Marsai Martin, Scott Disick, Martha Stewart, Jordyn Woods, and Kathy Griffin are among the celebrities who will open their doors to MTV cameras.
“Cribs didn’t simply introduce the celebreality genre, it created a blueprint for how we engage on social media,” Nina L. Diaz, President of Content and Chief Creative Officer, MTV Entertainment Group, said. “We are thrilled to usher in a new era of this iconic franchise for audiences around the world.”
