CNN is working to prevent the virus from spreading throughout their offices. Three employees who arrived at work without the Covid-19 immunization, according to Jeff Zucker, were fired.
Zucker emailed his colleagues on Thursday to elaborate on the reasons for the former employee’s dismissal. He claimed the three had broken the company’s honor code, which required all employees to be vaccinated despite the fact that no proof of vaccination was necessary.
“Let me be clear—we have a zero-tolerance policy on this,” Mr. Zucker said. “You need to be vaccinated to come to the office. And you need to be vaccinated to work in the field, with other employees, regardless of whether you enter an office or not.”
According to LAtimes, the names of the fired employees have yet to be given to the public.
Employees who have been vaccinated have been allowed to return to CNN headquarters on a voluntary basis. They used the honor system to validate their vaccination status through the company’s pass-card system, and they were not required to present proof. That, according to Zucker, could change in the coming weeks.
Employees are forced to work closely together in the workplace. Even major corporations, such as CBS News, require guests to produce proof of vaccination before accessing any of their locations.
Because of the epidemic, I worked from home for more than a year. Employees are finally allowed to return to work, but they must first complete the vaccination process.
