Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett met at the Robin Hood Foundation Gala in 2011 and teamed up three years later for their debut collaboration album, Cheek To Cheek. The album was released in 2014 and debuted at No. 1 in the United States, marking Gaga’s third consecutive chart-topper and Bennett’s second overall. The team is reforming over seven years later for their second joint album, Love For Sale, which will be released later this fall. To whet fans’ appetites for the album’s release, Gaga and Bennett perform a cover of Cole Porter’s “I Get A Kick Out Of You” as the first single.
Their most recent single is a cheerful number in which the duo sings about their love and admiration for one another. The song opens with soft piano chords with Gaga and Bennett singing a few lines back and forth. Soon after, the song’s full production appears, complete with drums, trumpets, and a bass guitar, with Gaga and Bennett picking up the tempo until the song’s conclusion.
Love For Sale, Gaga and Bennett’s second collaboration, is set to drop on October 1. The project’s official artwork was also released, and it features Gaga fixing a bow tie on Bennett, who is holding a sketch of his collaborator. The CD, which honors Cole Porter’s tunes, will include “raw footage” from the duo’s recording sessions. Bennett was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016, according to an AARP profile.
