A lawsuit filed last year between Vanessa Bryant and her mother Sofia Laine has been settled. Sofia, as you may recall, was suing her daughter for $5 million after making many charges against her. Vanessa allegedly ejected Sofia from her home, confiscated her car, and stopped paying her rent at her gated apartment complex, according to Sofia. Sofia also claimed that Kobe vowed to look for her for the rest of her life. Vanessa, on the other hand, refuted all of her mother’s assertions. Vanessa responded to the charges in a lengthy Instagram post when the case was initially made public.
Vanessa chastised her mother for attempting to extort money from her family during a difficult moment in her life, when she was grieving the loss of her husband and daughter, Gianna. “My mother is still attempting to wring a financial windfall from our family,” Vanessa revealed. “We arranged for my mother to live in one of our adjacent houses for nearly two decades at no expense to her because she claimed she couldn’t afford to buy a home following her divorce.” Until recently, the litigation has been kept under wraps.
The suit is now over, according to TMZ, because the parties have reached an agreement. The terms and amount of the settlement were not disclosed in the report, although it did confirm that it had been reached. Vanessa hasn’t commented on the lawsuit on Instagram, but she did share some adorable photographs and videos with her youngest daughter Capri earlier today at Ristorante Aurora Capri. We’ll keep you posted if she responds to the latest news!
