Lord, have mercy! People will always talk about something online, whether it’s good or terrible. You never know who will face public scrutiny for something they did or said. Meek Mill has been on the list recently, but Chloe Bailey was added to the list last night. People on social media complained that she was “doing too much” after her performance on “The Tonight Show” of her debut solo album, “Have Mercy.” Chloe sported a white feather costume and commanded the stage by getting low and gyrating during her performance.
Although some people expressed their admiration for Chloe on social media, not everyone felt the same way. “Can she stop trying to convert her twerk music into some kind of ranging art form?” one person tweeted. She’s doing far too much for someone with such a mediocre track record. She isn’t the multi-talented artist she claims to be.” People compared her to her mentor, Beyoncé, in addition to thinking she was doing too much.
Chloe had some free time today and appeared to reply to the backlash by tweeting, “doing too much is my expertise,” with a cheerful face emoji surrounded by love. Her followers also defended her on Twitter, calling out those who made disparaging remarks about her. “Chloe Bailey is exactly what I imagine artists who adore their appearance to be like. Many artists are talented, but being an artist is still a profession at the end of the day, and many of your favorite artists are doing it for the money, unlike Chloe, who has a real passion.”
