Rihanna was recently named a “National Hero of Barbados,” a country that recently declared independence from the British monarchy, and Prime Minister Mia Mottley said at the presidential inauguration, “May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to your nation by your works, by your actions, and to do credit wherever you shall go.”
So, why is the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Berlin upset with her? You’d have to assume they’re copying Rihanna’s wax figure’s new look at the museum. It’s been dubbed the “Christmas VIP” appearance, and it bears only a passing similarity to the star.
To say the least, it’s an odd sight. Even though Rihanna has rocked a number of other bangs-styles in the past, this one feels fresh. Her tattoos appear to be in the proper places if you look closely. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, given Madame Tussauds’ shady history with pop and hip-hop performers in the past. Their Nicki Minaj wax figurine, which was released in 2020, was an outlier. The same may be said for a 2019 try at Ariana Grande. Who can forget Beyoncê’s sullying in 2017?!
Rihanna’s supporters, understandably, are displeased. Rest assured, they’ll make sure this ruse is never forgotten. Because everything is recorded on the internet.
