Rihanna is apparently expecting to become a first-time mother in 2022, according to rumors.
The Academy, a verified Twitter account, first reported the story a day after Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley named Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, a National Hero of Barbados.
According to a more detailed story, Rihanna is expecting her first child with rapper and fashion aficionado A$AP Rocky, which has yet to be confirmed by the Fenty billionaire.
This isn’t the first time Rihanna has been linked to a pregnancy rumor. When she conducted a photoshoot with the United Kingdom magazine Dazed in September, many speculated if she was pregnant. ExtraTV asked her how she felt about the pregnancy rumors that plagued her career in 2019.
“A lot of women get very defensive because it’s personal,” Rihanna said. “It’s our bodies. Of course, it’s our time and not necessarily everyone’s dream to be a mom, but it is mine, so I’m fine.”
While it remains to be seen whether or not this report is true, Rocky and Rihanna have been close friends for the previous decade and openly declared their romantic relationship in 2021.
Rihanna starred in Rocky’s “Fashion Killa” music video, which he co-directed with the late Virgil Abloh in 2013.
Rocky, whose birth name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, and Rihanna are both 33 years old.
