Mariah Carey Surprised Employees At A McDonald’s In Aspen: ‘Oh My God!’

“Oh my god!” the manager proclaimed when she noticed the star.

This Christmas, Mariah Carey is pulling out all the stops. She usually does, but in 2021, she’s taken it to a whole new level. To begin with, “All I Want For Christmas” has once again topped the Billboard Hot 100, with over a billion total streams. This year, however, Carey debuted her first themed “Mariah Menu” at McDonald’s, which functions as a fast food advent calendar. People who spend at least $1 at McDonald’s using their app for each of the twelve days leading up to Christmas will receive a free item from the Mariah Menu. It’s been a huge success, and Mariah Menu branding can even be found on the brown paper bags at Mickey D’s.

So, in all her benign grandeur, the Christmas Queen decided to pay a surprise visit to the hardworking workers at a McDonald’s in Aspen (because, of course, Carey spends Christmas week in the snow).

Monroe and Moroccan Carey’s twins perpetrate a prank on an unsuspecting drive-thru operator in a trip caught in a very bizarre 3-minute Instagram video. Carey’s assistants next attempt to place an order at the walk-up counter in Portuguese. Carey goes into the restaurant hand-in-hand with her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka and her children in tow, and you’d think these employees were at their wit’s end. She enters in a gleaming red gown and compliments one of the employees on her Mariah Menu shirt (“That’s a cute blouse!”) She tries to order a cheeseburger, and it doesn’t take long for everyone to notice.

“Oh my god!” the manager proclaimed when she noticed the star. “I didn’t clear it with the top people,” Carey explains. “The kids just wanted to go to McDonald’s.” While she said she was not fond of the lighting (lol), she graciously took pictures with all of the employees, but did not take of her mask. “I can’t. Regulations. I’m from New York,” she explained. But she still looked stunning and clearly made these people’s night.
