“The first thing my mother responded when I told her she was sick was, ‘I’m going to battle and beat this,'” he wrote. “She battled till the bitter end, and now she is at rest.” I’ll always adore my mother, and while this hurts, I’m at ease knowing she’s no longer in suffering. Toni Braxton, Braxton’s sister and Grammy-winning singer, also paid tribute to her sister on Instagram with a black-and-white photo of the five sisters posing together.

In a statement released on behalf of the whole Braxton family, the “Un-break My Heart” singer described her sister as “a bright light, a lovely daughter, an outstanding sister, a loving mother, wife, grandma, and a respected artist.” (From left to right) Traci Braxton, Towanda Braxton, Toni Braxton (center), Trina Braxton, and Tamar Braxton at a photoshoot for their WeTV reality series, “Braxton Family Values,” in April 2011.via Associated PressBraxton was born in 1971 to Evelyn Jackson and Michael Conrad Braxton Sr. “Crash & Burn,” her debut solo album, was released in 2014.
