Bill Greenberg latest aptly-titled song “Ukraine” “envisions a Ukrainian soldier withstanding Putin’s so-called ‘special military operation’ repelling the destruction of their country and their homes—no matter what the cost to themselves or to their families.”
The lyrics are strong and the guitar strumming is endearing but the first half feels like it’s missing something to make it a truly great song. This is rectified halfway through the track as the harmonica comes in to truly give it the folksy feel and completes the song.
Overall, the song is enjoyable with a strong message. If you’re a fan of Willy Nelson, you’d likely enjoy this tune.
