Did Fantasia really try to commit suicide? Was this just an act for her reality TV Showso? Why would Fantasia do this when she has a daughter? These are just some of the questions that surrounded America’s favorite rags-to-riches story Fantasia when last week she attempted to end her life due to an affair that she was having with a married man.
Well Fantasia just confirmed with People magazine what many of us have already suspected.
“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out,” the American Idol winner, 26, tells VH1 in a new Behind the Music interview, airing 9 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday, the same day her new album, Back to Me, is released. “At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive].”
“I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”
Hopefully someone out there in the industry can help lead this young lady to the help that she so desperately needs. This just goes to show that no matter how someone appears on the outside, that there may be some serious demons on the inside. Lets just hope that her good pal Oprah can step in and intervene for her sake.
