Netflix has changed its pricing structure back in July. It started planning for new subscribers with current subs had until today, September 1st, to choose the higher priced plans before they are charged 60% more.
The best part is that as Hacking Netflix points out; it really doesn’t hit current customers until their first billing date after September 1st. This means there will be more procrastination!
It takes a few seconds to determine your billing date. What you need to do is go to Netflix, sign in and click the link in the top right corner labeled “Your Account and Help”. The first section will be your billing date listed.
In case you are in an uprage over the price increase, this screen will enable you to give Netflix a warning and cancel your account entirely or drop down to a lower priced option.
Netflix reported that 60% of the price increase was required to keep the DVD rental side more profitable. Netflix also internally separated streaming and DVD into their own divisions for a better management and growth. We all hope all these changes will enable Netflix to grow and expand the streaming library.
