Beverly Hills Police Department detectives are looking into allegations that Rapper Kanye West hit a young Caucasian man who reportedly verbally assaulted Kim Kardashian while also using racial slurs Jan. 13.
Police came to the scene after West, 36, got into a confrontation with a teen who reportedly started verbally assaulting Kim Kardasian with racial slurs. She was headed to her design appointment.
West is being investigated for the misdemeanor battery charge after he allegedly hit the teen according to witnesses, the incident began when the 18-year-old hurled racial slurs directed at the paparazzi. Kim suggested he not use these kinds of words and that’s when the teenager started cursing and throwing racial slurs at her.
One witness said the teen used the N-word and told her to shut the “f” up and more. The two got into a stairwell where the teen continued to barrage her with the insults, verbally insulting her, calling her a slut and threatening to kill her. The witness said you could tell Kardashian was afraid.
Another witness said Kim called West to help her where the teen ran into a chiropractor’s office. After calming Kardashian down, the pair went into the office where the teen was and saw him sitting in the reception area. West confronted the teen and punched him. Kardashian screamed that it was all on tape. The two men had to be separated and police were called.
A witness said the teen left the medical building and was seen wearing a sweatshirt around his head. West had left before police had arrived.
This is not the first time West has gotten in trouble over his temper. In 2008, charges were dropped against the rapper for the LAX scuffle with photographers after he completed anger management classes. In the same year, West had a brush with the law in the UK but no charges were filed. West is currently facing battery charges for a July 2013 LAX assault incident, for allegedly hitting a photographer.
The teen decided to press charges, with West now being a suspect in the battery case. Kardashian said she’s talked with her lawyers and will file a counterattack with a police report of her own.
