Former world champion boxer Mike Tyson made news for recently meeting with controversial Toronto mayor Rob Ford, who is running for re-election.
During an interview on Canada’s CP24 News, which was first posted by deadspin.com, Tyson went on an expletive-filled rant after host Nathan Downer asked him if his past as a convicted rapist would hurt Ford’s chances for another term in office.
Tyson, was accompanied by his representative during the segment, who tried to direct the conversation toward the retired fighter’s one-man show, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth,” but Tyson continued to direct his ire toward Downer.
After Tyson called the host a “rat piece of s–t,” Downer quickly brought the interview to a close.
Downer later took to Twitter to apologize for the exchange.

The majority of the interview is transcribed below. Tyson’s representative’s part in the conversation has been removed for clarity.
Downer: Some of your critics would say, you know there’s a race for mayor, we know you’re a convicted rapist. This could hurt his campaign. How would you respond to that?
Tyson: I don’t know who said that. You’re the one I heard say that. You know what I mean? I have no comment to that, because it’s negative. You’re being negative. I met the mayor, and there’s nothing they can do about it.
Tyson: It’s so interesting that you come across like a nice guy, but that was really a piece of s–t with that comment. F–k you. You’re a piece of s—t.
Downer: We’re doing live TV now.
Tyson: You know what, I don’t care. What are you gonna do about it?
Downer: You’ve got a show that you’re doing tonight. A lot of people have seen your show, just tell us a bit about it.
Tyson: It speaks for itself.
Downer: Is it nerve-wracking for you to do something like this or is it more nervous for you to box?
Tyson: I don’t know. It’s more nerve-wracking to sit here talking to a rat piece of s–t like you.
Downer: Come on, Mike.
Tyson: You’re a piece of s–t.
Downer: We’re going to wrap up this interview. Thank you for coming in.
Tyson: F–k you.
