Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious past.

“Battle Angel Alita, known in Japan as Gunnm (銃夢 Ganmu, literally “gun dream”), is a cyberpunk manga series created by Yukito Kishiro in 1990 and originally published in Shueisha’s Business Jump magazine.”

The film was in 3D and IMAX so it was like you where literally in the movie. Seriously, the film was so intense that during one scene a viewer got up to cheer on Alita, and I got so furious at them for blocking my view that I was about to gesture for them to sit down angrily, but then came to realize it was a character in the film.

At the end of the credits the show featured an exclusive behind the scenes look at making the movie and a Q and A from the fans for the actors. What I enjoyed about the film is that I had no idea who this Alita is or what she was about, so as the movie pans out you are learning and witnessing with her.

Alita: Battle Angel has love, laughter, hurt, hate, and pain, as each character comes into their own and finds their purpose in life. “I do not stand by in the presence of evil.” Ironically premiering in theaters worldwide February 14th (Valentine Day) their is no doubt that this little Angel is going to be everyone’s 20th Century Cupid!

From visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY), comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, is an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. Cast includes Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keean Johnson.
