There have been multiple reports of possible courses of action amid the Coronavirus outbreak that the United States can take to combat the virus. Donald Trump has finally addressed the nation and presents his plans to keep things under control.
According to Trump, he is imposing a travel ban for people and goods from Europe into the United States for the next 30 days. And while this may seem drastic, he says the is willing to take every precaution necessary to keep American citizens safe.
“To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days, The new rules will go into effect Friday at midnight,” he says. “These restrictions will be adjusted subject to conditions on the ground. There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings and these prohibitions will not only apply to the large amount of trade and cargo but various other things as we get approval.”
These travel restrictions, however, do not include any travel from the United Kingdom, according to Trump
“These restrictions will also not apply to the United Kingdom. At the some time we are monitoring the situation in China and South Korea and as their situation improves we will reevaluate the restrictions put into place.”
Donald Trump also says he is putting a fund into place to ensure that all “working Americans” impact by the virus can stay home without worrying about financial hardship.
