Ice Cube’s Big3 basketball league has formed a partnership with social media business Triller, which will serve as the league’s sole broadcast partner and host the Big3’s all-star game. Triller will join CBS Sports as the official media partners for BIG3’s fourth season as part of the partnership.
Triller Live, Triller’s worldwide direct-to-consumer streaming platform, will also stream 30 hours of exclusive live games for free starting on June 14 with the BIG3 super draft and ending on July 10 in Las Vegas with the fourth season kick-off. The forthcoming all-star game will also feature musical performances and will take place after the completion of the BIG3 season, which will be broadcast across all Triller platforms.
“BIG3 is returning for its fourth season, and it’s bigger than ever. BIG3 is the perfect mixture of sports and entertainment for that group, and the Triller platform has a big reach, especially with our younger consumers. In a statement to CNBC, BIG3 co-founders Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz said, “It made perfect sense to bring Triller on as an exclusive partner for this year, and we can’t wait to give fans something they’ve never seen before.”
Former NBA players compete in a three-on-three format in the Big3, a touring circuit league. This season, the Big3 is including FIREBALL3 into the league’s rules, which will elevate the basketball competition to new heights. The FIREBALL3 blends extremely competitive, physical, quick 3-on-3 basketball with novel gameplay, such as 4-point shots, Coach Challenges, and the game’s unique “Bring the Fire” rule, which allows teams to challenge fouls in-game, resulting in one-on-one battles to determine possession.
The specific details of the agreement were not released, but Big3 and Triller will share advertising revenue earned from events. The companies will also share arena signage and will cross-promote their brands. More information on the summer league’s schedule can be found at www.big3.com and the league is currently hosting tryouts.
