With EA Play rapidly approaching, there is rising excitement regarding the types of video games that will be showcased. While reports about a new Dead Space and even a new college football game continue to circulate, we’re also hearing about what won’t be there. We already know Bioware will be absent, which means no fresh information on Mass Effect and Dragon Age, but it appears that another major title will be absent from EA Play 2021 as well.
Star Wars, which was previously an EA exclusive, will not be present at EA Play this year. Fans of EA’s Star Wars video games, on the other hand, can be confident that there will be more in 2022. EA indicated that while they don’t have anything Star Wars-related to show off this year, they will next year. Perhaps a follow-up to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order?
This is a bit of a letdown, but at least we now know that new Star Wars games are in the works and will be released soon. Star Wars has one of the strongest fictional universes, and it has resulted in several fantastic games. What’s more alarming is that EA continues to announce that major names will not be a part of their upcoming EA Play, raising worries about what they want to display during the event.
Hopefully, this just means that without Bioware or Star Wars that EA is going to come through with tons of new games to show. A new IP announcement would be very cool, for example. We’ll just have to wait and see!
