“You win some, you lose some,” as the saying goes, and Offset was no exception.
On “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, the Migos member described how he lost ten bands on the same night that he and his now-wife, mother of his children, and female rapper Cardi B went on their first date.
“My first date, I went big,” he told guest host Anthony Anderson. I wanted to do something out of the ordinary, if you get what I mean. I was looking for a good time, so I took her to the Super Bowl.” The Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots were pitted against each other in this Super Bowl contest.
Offset remembers his Atlanta Falcons team leading by three points with only three minutes left in the game, but that Tom Brady, a former long-time New England Patriots NFL player, stepped in with “whatever powers he be having” and “finished us.” With a score of 34-28, the Patriots were victorious. Not only was this awful news for Offset because of the loss. The Atlanta native had staked a significant amount of money on the Falcons’ success.
“I lost $10,000 that night too,” said the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper. “But you know what I won,” Offset continued, “my wife.”
Offset and Cardi married in 2017 after just dating for a short period, and their relationship has had its ups and downs since then. They were going strong until December 2018, when Cardi and Offset called it quits amid cheating allegations. They eventually reconciled, but it was reported in 2020 that Cardi filed for divorce. When the news broke, Cardi reassured her followers that it wasn’t because she was cheating, but rather because she was “weary of arguing.”
But, just in time for Cardi’s 28th birthday celebration, the two appeared to be back on track less than a month later. The couple is now preparing to welcome their second child. During their BET Awards performance last month, they confirmed their pregnancy.
Kulture Kiari Cephas, the couple’s kid, was born in 2018. Offset has three other children from past relationships: a girl and two sons.
