Flanked by dancers clad in similar silver ensembles, all eyes were on Normani, as she sauntered across the stage slaying the performance of her rising hit, “Wild Side”.
Equipped with synchronized; yet seductive choreography, the Atlanta native’s performance was enhanced by her pristine pipes, which also remained perfectly intact. With so much excitement, viewers simply weren’t prepared for what came next. As the stage lights dimmed, a woman appeared onstage strapped to a bondage board. When it became apparent that the “mystery woman” was Teyana Taylor, the crowd roared with delight. Normani then mounted Taylor, performing an erotic technique reminiscent of the concert lap dances given by Janet Jackson. These dances are famously given to Ms. Jackson’s cherry picked, and very lucky male spectators. Not surprisingly. Normani’s continued deliverance of flawless performances has fueled much anticipation for what she will do next.
Released on July 16, 2021, “Wild Side” features fellow hitmaker Cardi B, and debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached number-one on both the R&B Streaming Songs and R&B Digital Song Sales charts. Additionally, the song snagged a nomination for this year’s Song of Summer award.
