Hailing from Richmond Virginia, singer, songwriter, and jazz-pianist, Calvin Brown was touched by musical prowess while his peers were still playing video games. At the ripe age of 13, Brown began playing piano in church, and knew that he was destined for much more. Backed by his seven piece band Calvin Presents, Brown opts to take us on a musical journey like we’ve never imagined, with his November 2, release Dream. From the smooth R&B flavor of “Care”, to the mid-tempo grooves of the title track and “Fall”, the album is deeply rooted in jazz,R&B, gospel, and neo-soul. With additional elements of hip hop, alternative-rock , and trap music, Dream is nothing short of a melodic masterpiece.
