Police officers discovered twin newborns inside a Queens mother’s apartment on Thursday, and she was charged with their murder.

After officers discovered Dakota and Dallas Kilpatrick, six-week-old twins, in her Woodside Houses apartment, NYPD officers arrested and charged Danejza Kilpatrick, 23. According to the paper, officers discovered the baby boy in a bedroom crib with a knife sticking out of his head and the baby girl wrapped in a pink blanket under a sink. According to the Daily Mail, the infants were discovered after their mother declined to answer questions about their whereabouts and became upset when officers arrived at the house.

She reportedly told the officers, “I don’t want them”, and added she “couldn’t take it anymore.” The case is currently under investigation by the Administration of Children’s Services and neighbors said the young woman recently moved into the apartment last month.
