As I get older I find Myself saying more often “I wish I knew then what I know now.” There is no denying that along with age comes knowledge. The older we get the more we see, the more we experience and for some the older we look. That is not true for us all though. Some women appear to age backwards or (joking) to be vampires, with a look that hasn’t changed much at all in 20 years plus. It is so inspiring to see such epitomes of black beauty as the women listed below. Whatever their secrets are I wish they’d all write a book so we can all age just as gracefully.

Alfre Woodard – (Age 63) most known Award winning actress has had a career than spanned over 3 decades. She has won multiple awards and at 63 only gets more regal looking as she ages.

Halle Berry – (Age 49) has long since been men’s fantasy woman since she burst on the scene in the early 90’s. At 49 she is still turning heads and driving men crazy.

Phylcia Rashad – (Age 67) after a successful career start in theater, Rashad went on to later become one of televisions favorite moms starring in The Cosby Show. At almost 70 she still looks the spitting image of Claire Huxtable.

Angela Bassett – (Age 57) Bassett won our hearts portraying some of the most prolific black women in Black culture from Tina Turner to Coretta Scott King and Rosa Parks. Her timeless beauty continues to mystify.

Nia Long – (Age 45) In the 90’s Nia Long was the young beautiful dark skin girl in so many movies that we swooned over. She was every boy “play girlfriend” and every woman’s idea of perfection. To many she is still both.

Gabrielle Union ( Age 43 ) Gabby as we love to call her won our hearts over as the pretty mean girl in the early 2000’s with roles in movies like 10 things I hate about you and Bring it on. At 43 this dream girl could still play a teen with her youthful looks

Cicely Tyson (Age 91) Tyson has starred in movies that will shake your soul. Her roles have always been strong women who defy the times they are living in. Fun fact, this multiple award winning actress was also married to trumpeter Miles Davis at one point.

Grace Jones ( Age 67) the former singer, model and actress is still making her rounds on stage at 67. The black beauty just released a memoir in September of this year.

Lynn Whitfield (Age 62) is a 5 time NAACP Image award winning actress who’s looks defy age. She almost appears to get younger as the years go by.

Lela Roshon (Age 51) This actress has a long list of roles under her belt but to date is still best known by many for her role along side Whitney Houston in waiting to exhale.
